The Department of Maternal and Child Health is the representative unit of the Ministry of Health in promoting and educating the expansion of the focus on improving the quality of health of pregnant mothers and young children. This work is the responsibility of each individual, family and the whole society, the core of which is the health sector.

First Time Motherhood & Childcare Handbook – The first campaign on a meaningful 5-year journey

We understand that the ability to take care of yourself is the initial foundation for your child to be healthy, develop best and contribute a small part to reducing the burden on the Vietnamese healthcare system, minimizing costs, thereby improving the quality of life of both mother and baby. And the “First Time Motherhood & Childcare” handbook is the first step of this meaningful journey.
After nearly half a year of gestation, the “First Time Motherhood & Childcare” handbook was “born” with the mission of helping mothers, especially inexperienced mothers, gain more knowledge, skills and confidence on this sacred journey.

Publishing the handbook – Campaign to improve knowledge for mothers
With this spirit, the Department of Maternal and Child Health, Ministry of Health publishes the book “First-time Motherhood & Childcare” with the hope of providing necessary and useful information for every Vietnamese family.
The content of the handbook is published by leading experts in the field of maternal and child health care: MSc. Dr. Dinh Anh Tuan (Deputy Head of the Department of Maternal and Child Health) – editor-in-chief, with leading doctors such as Dr. Duong Lan Dung (Central Maternity Hospital), MSc. Nghiem Thi Xuan Hanh, MSc. Do Thu Thuy (Department of Maternal and Child Health).

The “First Time Mother & Childcare” Handbook provides complete knowledge from Pregnancy to Childcare, with 5 parts and 24 detailed lectures:
